Leveraging AI-powered Remote Monitoring to Enhance an NHS Practice Efficiency.

This study aims to evaluate the impact of DentalMonitoring (DM) on the efficiency of two types of fixed orthodontics treatments: Fixed-brackets and Carriere Motion.optimized treatment results through 90 DM scans and AI-based alerts, which ensured high precision in tracking and adjusting the treatment trajectory remotely. This was a retrospective comparative cohort study conducted in a private practice setting and involving a single treating orthodontist. To achieve the objective of the study, a set of treatment-related predefined metrics were extracted from the clinical notes of the Practice Management Software (PMS) and compared between the DM and non-DM cohorts.

We introduced Dental Monitoring (DM) into the practice in 2018. At this stage, we mainly used it to monitor our aligner patients. The onset of Covid meant that we rapidly moved all of our patients to DM in order to manage the remote monitoring of patients without access to the clinic.
